OTHER PUBLICATIONS:

One of the stories in this book, “Family Recipe,” was previously published in Kansas City Voices, Volume 8 (2010). I’ve also had a short story, “Twenty-Four Hour Bugs,” published by Mozark Press in A Shaker of Margaritas: A Bad Hair Day.

I have had essays published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: All in the Family (2009), Chicken Soup for the Soul: Shaping the New You (2010), and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Parenthood (2013). One of my poems, “Esperanza,” was published on Spiritual Crossroads, a blog by Janet Sunderland.  And I was a Midwest Voices columnist for The Kansas City Star in 2010.

WRITING AWARDS:

An early draft of Lead Me Home won an honorable mention from the Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc.

In addition, I’ve won awards for short stories, essays, and poetry from the Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc. and from the Missouri State Poetry Society.
