I have been a reader for as long as I can remember. I write in part because I've always enjoyed reading so much. I've posted often about the importance of reading in my life.

My historical novels contain discussion guides, which make them good choices for book clubs and for students seeking to learn about the American West. If readers are curious about my answers to the questions in the discussion guides, please feel free to contact me. And I love reading from my books and talking to book clubs about my novels and the discussion guides in the novels, so please contact me if you'd like to schedule me to meet with your group.

Also, I encourage readers to seek out books by local authors. I am a member of the Hometown Reads Kansas City community, which features authors from across my own metropolitan area. I hope you will check out this site to find great books by Kansas City authors. Hometown Reads also features books from many other communities, so give the site a look, even if you're not from Kansas City.

In addition, I am part of Read Local Kansas City, another group that provides information on literary activities in  Kansas City, including those sponsored by the public libraries in our community. Read Local Kansas City sponsors a Facebook page and Twitter feed, which I hope you will follow.

Remember, READ LOCAL!

(There are great books written everywhere, but if you want to support your local arts community, remember the writers as well as the visual artists and craftspeople.)
